4 weeks Itinerary in SOUTH AMERICA

Exploring the vibrant neighborhoods of Palermo and San Telmo, indulging in mouthwatering Argentine cuisine. From strolling along the iconic Avenida de Mayo to visiting the awe-inspiring Recoleta Cemetery, Buenos Aires offers a whirlwind of sights, sounds, and flavors that will leave you spellbound. 

Hiking amidst towering granite peaks and pristine glaciers in El Chaltén, known as the trekking capital of Argentina, and be rewarded with awe-inspiring vistas of Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre. In El Calafate, witness the majestic Perito Moreno Glacier up close and feel the power of nature as massive chunks of ice calve into the turquoise waters of Lake Argentino. 

For our first three weeks we had rented a small little apartment in Buenos Aires with a washing machine, such that we could travel with hand luggage only and go back to wash our clothes. So we flew back to "Aeroparque Internacional Jorge Newbery", took a taxi to our apartment quickly, repacked and off we went. Because the airport is in the middle of the city, if you make sure to have 5 hours in between your flights, that is actually a possible way how to optimize to pack for different climate zones. 

Embarking on a four-day adventure in Mendoza, Argentina's premier wine region, where vineyards stretch as far as the eye can see. Indulge in world-class wine tastings and tour the renowned wineries, savoring the rich flavors and learning about the art of winemaking. Immerse yourself in the stunning landscapes of the Andes Mountains, with opportunities for hiking and horseback riding. 

A brief two days stopover in Buenos Aires to get our big fat luggage ready. While in Buenos Aires we caught up on some previously booked tours - we visited the "Chalet on the House" in Buenos Aires Old district, a hidden gem nestled within the bustling city. At night we indulged in one of the most impressive culinary experiences in our whole South American travel - the restaurant  "13 Fronteras". Don't miss this gem!

An unforgettable six-day adventure to San Pedro de Atacama, a captivating oasis in the heart of the Chilean desert. Discover the surreal landscapes of the Moon Valley and witness the stunning beauty of the flamingo-filled lagoons, where vibrant pink hues reflect off the crystalline waters, creating a surreal sight. Santa Cruz and Isabela Islands boast a remarkable array of wildlife, from the iconic giant tortoises and playful sea lions to exotic bird species and fascinating marine life, creating a paradise for nature enthusiasts. This was an extraordinary eight-day adventure to the Galapagos Islands. Hike to the summit of Sierra Negra volcano, marveling at the expansive crater and panoramic vistas of the archipelago. Pedal through the scenic landscapes of natural beauty and fascinating history towards Wall of Tears and be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding volcanic terrain and the azure waters of the Pacific Ocean. Dive into the crystal-clear waters of Gordon's Rock, encountering a rich marine ecosystem filled with the impressive hammer sharks. Kayak along the picturesque beaches, snorkeling alongside graceful sea turtles as you soak in the beauty of these pristine shores. 

Our last few days we spend an unforgettable nine-day adventure exploring the Mexican Peninsula, immersing yourself in the vibrant cities of Merida and Valladolid, and diving into the natural wonders of cenotes and the coral reefs of Playa del Carmen. Discover the ancient Mayan ruins, such as Chichen Itza and Ek Balam, and experience the awe-inspiring beauty of underwater caverns as you dive into the crystal-clear waters of the cenotes. Dive into the vibrant marine ecosystems of the Caribbean Sea, exploring the colorful reefs and encountering a diverse array of marine life, making this trip a perfect blend of cultural exploration and thrilling underwater adventures.
